After eight years of serving the shooting community, we have decided to close our doors at the end of the year. We started this business with the short term goal of sharing something we enjoyed, our hunting and shooting enthusiasm, with similarly minded people in Western North Carolina. We wanted to provide that experience in a customer oriented and comfortable, friendly environment. We think we accomplished that goal.

On Wednesday, October 26th, we will begin our closing sale. All new firearms will be 35 – 40% off. All other merchandise: ammunition, reloading supplies, clothing, and shooting accessories will be 50% off. This sale will continue until the end of the year or all merchandise is gone. Please come in and take advantage of these great deals!

If you have ever owned or worked in a small business you understand the all consuming nature of running your own business. I was no spring chicken when we opened our doors. Now as we watch the sun setting on our lives, it is important to do other things that being an independent business owner keep us from doing: spending time with a family spread over the world in military service (really the grandchildren), being more involved in church activities, and getting in some “bucket list” hunting trips while we still have the legs to do it. Changes in the firearms market over the past year have helped lead to the timing of our decision.

What’s next for me? I’d like to totally retire but we’ll need money to pay for all those grandchildren visits! I will step into another life as a freelance outdoor writer, something I’ve done before, providing copywriting services to businesses in the hunting and shooting industry and maybe a few articles about my shooting and hunting experiences for firearms and upland hunting magazines. You’ll still see us around at the sporting clays range, maybe sitting on the edge of a dove field, or tromping through the grouse woods.

Thank you for your friendship and support over the past eight years.  The most difficult part of this decision is missing the daily contact with our friends and customers we have grown to know and appreciate during this time.
